Jean A. Carnes

Jean A. Carnes of Florida, N.Y. (and formerly of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn), passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at home. She was 76.
Born in Brooklyn on Aug. 20, 1941, she was one of six children of Hugh Napier and Catherine Shaughnessy.
Jean loved cats almost as much as she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her family, flowers and her work. Jean had retired as a bookkeeper from Shinko American in New York City in 2010.
Jean is survived by her daughter Jean Laroe and husband James of Sugar Loaf; grandsons Ian Laroe and Brian Laroe of Sugar Loaf and Steven Laroe and his wife Jessica of Warwick; granddaughter Samanatha Romig and husband Dave of Chester; three great grandchildren: Emily, Callie and Leah; sisters Barbara Foppiano and husband Andrew of Brooklyn, Kathy Etheridge and husband Bruce of Warwick, Mary Ann Marino and husband Michael of New Jersey; brothers Hugh Napier of Saddle Brook, N.J., and Thomas Napier and wife Sara of Sanford, N.C.; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
On Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick.
