    Janice P. Stanfield, a lifelong resident of Highland Mills, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick.

    Jan was born November 20, 1931, in Highland Mills to James A. and Alice (Barton) Payne.

    She was retired from Warwick Savings Bank. She was a member of the Highland Mills United Methodist Church and Woodbury Golden Age Club. Jan was honored to receive, on behalf of her family, the entry of her father, Jim, to the Fly Fishing Hall of Fame in October 2005.

    The family would like to thank our neighbors and friends for helping Jan and us through her illness, and the staff at Schervier Pavilion (Forest Hall) and the Physical Therapy Department for the wonderful care and support she was given.

    She is survived by her husband Walter C. Stanfield of Highland Mills; her daughter Melanie S. Wagner and her husband Mark of Manassas, Va.; her sons Walter P. Stanfield of Highland Mills and Stephen J. Stanfield and Deirdre O’Keefe of Highland Mills; her grandchildren Tara (Wagner) and her husband Will Cole of Palmyra, Va., Alison Wagner and Matthew Wagner of Manassas, Va.; her sister Ruth and her husband Dr. George (Bud) Thompson of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills. ,

    A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Highland Mills United Methodist Church, 654 Route 32, Highland Mills. Interment will follow in Cemetery of The Highlands in Highland Mills.
