James R. Schmick Sr.

James R. Schmick Sr. of Vernon, N.J., entered into rest on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 76.

The son of Henry Schmick Sr. and Mary Weitz, he was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Warwick.

He was a lifelong member of the Beaverbrook Rod & Gun Club and the NRA. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy Farber Schmick, at home; daughter Rosanne Perez and her husband Carlos of Middletown; son James R. Schmick Jr. and his wife Rita-Ann of Vernon; seven grandchildren: Brittany, Gabrielle, Michael, Parker, Benjamin, Edward and Olivia. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers: Christian, Henry Jr., Albert, Clarence, Harry and George Schmick; and two sisters: Marie Foote and Florence Schmick.

Funeral services were held July 31 at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Pine Island. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, N.J.
