James F. Lawler

    James F. Lawler of Warwick (and formerly of Airmont), passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 78 years old.
    Born on July 29, 1938, in Astoria, Queens, he was the son of James F. Lawler and Barbara Gallagher Lawler.
    He was married to Mary Ann (Richmond) Lawler for 48 years.
    James served with the United States Marines and was retired as an information technology manager with the Bergen Record newspaper in Hackensack, N.J.
    He was a member of Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, N.J.
    His family's statement reads: “Jim was an avid Giants and Yankees fan. He loved taking his dog for walks, enjoyed reading and his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.”
    He is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Warwick; his children: James F. Lawler II and his wife Carrie of Sherwood, Oregon, and Robert J. Lawler and his wife Kathleen of Warwick; and his beloved grandchildren: Riley, Campbell, Ryan, Sean, Kyle and Emily.
    Visitation was held June 12 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick. 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
    A Funeral Mass was celebrated June 13 at Church of the Presentation.
    Private cremation.
