James Edwin Wood

James Edwin Wood of Warwick died at home on Saturday. May 19, 2018. He was 81.
The son of Herbert Wood and Florence Scofield Wood, he was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Warwick.
A lifelong Warwick resident, he was a retired railroader, carpenter, teacher and Christmas tree farmer as well as a lifelong beekeeper.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda M. Wood; daughter Susan W. Goodall and husband John; son Mark C. Wood; grandchildren: Kaitlin Wood, Judah and Asha Goodall. He leaves a sister, Jane Sanders, and was predeceased by siblings Herbert Wood, Lois Ball and Lyle Wood.
Cremation will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or WDVX Radio in Knoxville, Tenn., where his grandson Judah hosts a weekly radio program.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
