Jake Grzyb

    Raymond “Jake” Grzyb of the Village of Florida entered into rest on Monday, March 25, 2013. He was 87.

    The son of Jacob and Blanche Kosior Grzyb, he was born Sept. 9, 1925, in the Village of Florida.

    He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.

    He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph’s Holy Name Society, St. Joseph’s Banquet Committee, Warwick Valley Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, past commander of American Legion Post 1250 Florida and Seward Senior Citizens.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Clara Andryshak Grzyb at home; daughters Carol Dembeck of Florida and Patricia Nixdorf and husband Lou of Florida; sister Teresa Noha and her husband Harry of Delaware; grandchildren Walter Thompson and Brian Thompson; brother-in-law Edmund Pawelek; sister-in-law Helen Lis; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Edward Grzyb and sister Frances Pawelek.

    A funeral Mass will be held March 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 20 Glenmere Ave., Florida. The Rev. Joseph Tokarczyk will officiate.

    Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
