Helen Frances Sala

Helen Frances Sala of Warwick passed away at home on Friday, June 2, 2017. She was 60 years old.
Born on June 8, 1956, in Ridgewood, Queens, she was the daughter of James and Audrey (Schidler) Colbert.
In 1982, Helen and her husband, John A. Sala, moved to Orange County to start a family and a Snap-On business. They found their home in Warwick in 1989 where her family lived and thrived in the community ever since.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Sala of Warwick; her children: Jessica Sala of Denver, Colorado, Thomas Sala and his wife Ashley of Atlanta, Georgia, and John D. Sala of Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren: Madison and Andrew; a sister, Dorothy Thomas and husband Robert of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Daniel Colbert of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Kathy Colbert of Toms River, N.J.; and cousins Christine and John Robinson of Oradell, N.J.
She was an active and loved member of Grace Community Church, Warwick.
Her family's statement reads: “Helen was a devoted and supportive mother and grandmother. She had a deep love for her family and friends. Helen had a huge heart and often said that a smile was worth a million bucks. She lived with passion, adventure and strength throughout her whole life. She was a talented cook, gardener and reader. Helen loved listening to the birds and watching wildlife in the area. She will be missed and adored by many for years to come.”
Visitation was held June 8 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
Funeral services were held June 9 at Grace Community Church, 199 Kings Highway, Warwick. Private cremation.
