    Gloria M. Pikul of Florida, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, after a courageous battle against cancer, surrounded by her family.
    The daughter of Jacob and Mary Szady Sanok, she was born on Feb. 16, 1943, in Goshen.
    Gloria was a member, past president and secretary of the General Pulaski Memorial Committee of O.C., where she was elected the marshal representing Orange County for the Pulaski Day Parade in October 1998. She was also a member of the Hudson Valley Polonaise Society.
    She was very proud of her Polish heritage. It showed every Christmas with her homemade pierogis and her love of hosting Christmas Eve Wigilia. She loved so much to decorate her home at Christmas time with her manger, village, Christmas tree and stockings.
    She also was a passionate Longaberger Basket collector and loved going antique collecting for her milk glass.
    She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughters and their spouses: Lisa and Henry Straub and Sylvia and Robert Lesko; her adoring grandchildren: Justin Straub and his companion Terri Capwell; Dylan and Amandah Lesko; her sisters Martha Olejniczak and husband John; Caroline Andryshak; brother Jake Sanok and his wife Marylu; and several sisters and brothers-in-laws. She was also known as Cioci Gloria to numerous nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her brother Steven Sanok and brother-in-law, Henry Andryshak.
    Memorial visitation was held Sept. 20 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Florida.
    A Memorial Mass was held Sept. 21 at St. Joseph Church in Florida.
    The family would like to thank Dr. Rappaport and her many doctors at Crystal Run for their wonderful medical care. We would also like to thank Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties for their loving care, encouragement and guidance, especially nurse Joann and aide Melanie.
