Georgina Negron

    Georgina Negron of Warwick, and formerly of the Bronx, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 74 years old.

    Born Aug. 9, 1938, in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Eduardo and Maria E. (Rosario) Charleman.

    She was married to Jose A. Negron.

    Before retiring, Georgina was an office associate at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Church n Warwick.

    Her family’s statement reads: “Devoted to her family – the matriarch in a strong line of women - she was always there to lend a hand and her house. She was a passionate and strong person and a surrogate mother to many.”

    She is survived by her husband, Jose A. Negron, of the Bronx; daughter Laura Mangual and her husband Edwin of Florida; son Adam Negron and his wife Anna of Goshen; granddaughter Morgan Mangual; brother Joseph Charleman of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; brother-in-law John Mercado; many nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by a son, Fernando Negron.

    Visitation was scheduled to be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

    Funeral Mass was scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Stephen’s R.C. Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
