Gary L. Lust

Gary L. Lust of New Hampton and formerly of Warwick, as well as a former bookkeeper for Baskin-Robbins in Middletown entered into rest on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021. He was 63 years old.

The son of Walter H. Lust and Loretta Gancarz Lust, he was born on Oct. 7, 1957, in Middletown.

Gary was a member of the Warwick Valley High School Class of 1975 and a graduate of Orange County Community College in Middletown.

Survivors include his sister Lori DeStefano and her husband Carmen of New Hampton, his beloved niece Amy DeStefano of New Hampton and numerous cousins and special friends.

The family would also like to acknowledge on Gary’s behalf the many nurses who provided him with great care and friendship over the years. Special thanks must also be extended to his longtime physician Dr. John Ferguson and to Fr. Simon and Fr. Dennis who cared for his spiritual needs.

Visitation was held Aug. 16 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island.

Funeral mass was held Aug. 17 at St. Stanislaus Church in Pine Island. The Rev. Bernard Heter officiated.

Burial was St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
