Fred Yarusso

Frederick Joseph Yarusso of Cape Coral Fla., and longtime resident of Warwick, died peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fla. He as 75.

He was born Feb. 10, 1938, in the Bronx to Joseph Yarusso and Elizabeth (Coleman) Yarusso.

His professional career included more than 30 years of management in the telecommunications industry. He was especially skilled in overseeing the planning and design of communications equipment installation.

His career included serving as technical manager at AT&T, vice-president of operations and telecommunications at Merrill Lynch where he was responsible for overseeing the installation and engineering of the World Financial Center’s cable management system.

Fred also ran his own LLC serving as a private communications consultant.

He served three years in the US Army as communications chief stationed in Germany.

Fred is survived by his wife Gigi (Kaufmann) Yarusso; his daughter Linda Cook and her husband Bill of Chugwater, Wy.; his stepchildren Greg Kaufmann and wife Misty of Tallahassee, Fla., Virginia Morrow of Westtown and Fred Kaufmann, his wife Debi and their children Luke and Eric of San Diego, Calif.; as well as many of his wonderful friends that were an important part of his life.

Fred will be missed by his family, including his dog Django, his friends and by all that knew him for his great sense of humor and his gentle soul. A private memorial for friends and family will be held in Warwick with date and location to be announced in the future.
