Fred W. Bohn

Fred W. Bohn, a longtime resident of Warwick, passed away on Friay, Feb. 5, 2021, at home with his loving family by his side. He was 72 years old.

Born in Scranton Pa., on March 3, 1948, he was the son of Carl and Mabel (McGarry) Bohn.

Fred was a well-loved nuclear medicine technologist at St. Anthony Community Hospital for more than 50 years. He considered his co-workers – as well as his many repeat patients over the years – his extended family.

A tribute from Lady to Tinman:

Lovingly known as “Tinman,” Fred had more heart than anyone I know. His gentility and quiet strength at times went unnoticed because of his cool, quiet presence. A man who never “blew his own horn,” he had a following of patients who never forgot his kindness and steadfast demeanor, which calmed even the most frightened of Octogenarians. I called them the “The Eighties Ladies” and they frequently prolonged our grocery trips. He always kept his priorities straight, and knew family was the all-important measure of success and a “good man.” I always knew I was loved, and I always knew he loved his St. Anthony’s Family, his Harley, “Baby,” strumming his Fender, and trying to beat the slots and PS4 game challenges. I was blessed with over 33 years of a respectful partnership; we made each other better and we shared road adventures beyond compare. We enjoyed a beautiful, long dance and always knew we had it all. Until our next Harley ride or Lindy—”We—‘as endless as the sea.’”

Fred is survived by his wife, Nancy Miller-Bohn; daughters Sherri Terracino and her husband Terry of Middletown and Michelle Bohn and her partner Tom O’Neill of Los Angeles, California; stepdaughter Lauren Daley and her husband Will of Napa, California; and stepson Daniel Miller and his wife Heather of Valhalla; eight beloved grandchildren: Brandon, Brooke, Rachel, Liam, Brennecke, Hailee, Harper and Jake; sister Karen Morgan, and her husband Rick of Moscow, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Feb. 8 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Fred’s memory by making a donation of any size to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, United Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., or FeedingAmerica.org or by simply being kind to a pet.
