Franklin Roosevelt Breen
Franklin Roosevelt Breen of Florida, N.Y., an extremely well-known retired mechanic, machinist and owner of South Main Garage in the Village of Florida, entered into rest on Friday, June 23, 2017. He was 84.
The son of Edward P. and Emma Breen, he was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Sussex, N.J.
Frank was an avid hunter and founding member of Deer Head Hunting Club Bethel, NY. He enjoyed playing pool for Slattery’s Bar & Grill and was past commodore and member of Cornwall Yacht Club since 1970.
He also enjoyed helping his son David on his farm by keeping the farm equipment up and running after his retirement.
Frank’s family appreciates the time his friend Dean Krzymowski spent with him working on his antique cars, going to car shows and just getting him out.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bette Jean Breen; daughter Diane Youngs and her husband Clifford; daughter Carole Lee Andryshak and her husband Mark; son David Franklin Breen and his wife Jung Ah; daughter Kathy Fish and her husband Sanford; and daughter Ellen Ann Coulon and her husband Craig: grandchildren: Brian Youngs and his wife Linsay Swan, Robert Youngs, Jeffrey Youngs; Kelly Mecocci and her husband Robert; Kaitlyn Ribeiro and her husband Michael; Michael April, Mackenzie Breen; Jamie Santos and husband Daniel; Autumn Herald; Nicholas Boughen; Krystal Boughen; and Cody Coulon; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Richard Dale Breen and infant daughter Joan Carol Breen.
Visitation was held June 28 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Florida.
Cremation and burial of his ashes will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
