Frances Sica
Frances Sica, formerly of Chester, died peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, with family by her side. She was 85.
Daughter of Francis and Helen Martin, she was born on March 18, 1930, in Manhattan.
She loved crocheting and reading. She worked for many years as a home health aide to the elderly and she was also a past-president of the Ladies Auxiliary for St. Columba in Chester.
Her grandchildren knew her home as "Camp Meme." They all spent much of their youth there, getting spoiled and having fun.
Survivors include her five children, Cheryll A. Barrett and her husband, William, of Brewster, N.Y., Geraldine A. Dees and her husband, Bruce, of Simsbury, Conn., Vincent P. Sica and his wife, Kelly, of South Windsor, Conn., Frances S. McManus and her husband, Robert, of Warwick, and Thomas A. Sica and his wife, Julie, of Glenmont, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, William and his wife, Emily, Katherine and her husband, Keith, Patricia, Robert, Megan, Thomas, Hilary, Mary, Joseph, Sara, John, Alec, Liam, and Genevieve; and her sister Helen Heaney of Dumont, N.J.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Thomas P. Sica; brothers, John and David Martin; sister, Rose Hannah; and granddaughter, Cassidy Frances McManus.
Visitation was held Oct. 25 at Lippincott Funeral Home, Chester. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 26 at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Chester.
Interment followed at Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen.
