It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene Michael “Mike” Murray of Warwick, NY (formerly of Bronxville, NY), into eternal rest on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at 6:45 a.m., in his 90th year of life, with his son Michael by his side.

Mike was born on June 18, 1933 in uptown Manhattan during the depression. He grew up on the streets of New York City and was fatherless at age 4. He was a hustler from the beginning - shining shoes, lugging ice, and delivering groceries.

Mike raised his family in Queens, worked hard all along until age 75. He was the superintendent of Riverhouse in Bronxville, NY for 20+ years. He retired to Warwick, NY, where he lived peacefully until his death.

A family statement reads, “Thanks Dad for all you did, all you said, and all you are. Through conquering life’s challenges, aging and sickness, you showed us your strength, bravery, dignity, perseverance, and your desire to stay alive with your wife and family. Our love and devotion are with you forever and into eternity. You will live forever in our hearts and memories.”

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Louise; five children and their spouses; his eight grandchildren; and his brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and June Murray.

Cremation was private.

Arrangements were made by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. To send an online condolence, visit www.lsvpmemorialhome.com.
