Elvira Sheppard

Elvira Sheppard of Warwick, and formerly of Manhattan, passed away at home after a brief illness on Monday, March 11, 2019. She was 90 years old.
Vera, as those who knew and loved her called her, was born in New York City on Feb. 19, 1929, to Gaetano and Mary (Taussi) Coluccio.
Prior to retirement, she was an Administrative Assistant for HIP Health Insurance in New York City.
Vera is survived by her daughter Joyce Sheppard; daughter-in-law Sophia McField; grandson Spencer McField-Sheppard; her first cousins Brian and Christa and their families; and many other cousins as well.
She was predeceased by her husband John Sheppard and sister Marie Leszcz.
Visitation was held March 13 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 14 at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Hewitt, N.J.
Interment followed in Gate of Heaven in Hawthorne.
