Eleanor M. Kazar

Eleanor M. “Ellie” Kazar of Pine Bush, and formerly of Florida, N.Y., entered into rest on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, after a long illness. She was 83.

The daughter of the late Peter Heter and Katherine Sosler Heter, she was born on April 22, 1929, in the Village of Florida.

Eleanor was a retired maintenance worker at the Orange County Government Center in Goshen and a retired employee of Alders Wholesale Florist.

She was married to the late Walter Kazar.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy Maurin and her husband Robert of Pine Bush; granddaughter Courtney Maurin; grandson Eric Maurin; three brothers: Carl Heter of Florida, N.Y., Ben Heter of Melbourne, Fla., and Ed Heter of Tarboro, N.C.; and sister Theresa Russo of New Windsor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Josephine Turi and Jean DiBello and brothers Barney, Connie and Daniel Heter.

A funeral Mass was held Dec. 4 at St. Joseph’s Church in the Village of Florida. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice of Rockland 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
