Elaine Gassaway, of Warwick, NY passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2022. She was 73 years old.
Born in Brooklyn on December 21, 1948, she was one of four daughters born to Joseph and Rose Maggorie, and raised by Rose and her second husband, Hank Peris.
Elaine was a hairdresser at Kids Kuts on Long Island. She loved her customers; they were like a large extended family to her.
Elaine is survived by her three sons: Evan and his wife Jean, of Warwick, NY, and their son William; Jamie Gassaway and Ryan Gassaway and his wife Lauren and their son Caleb; sister Denise Quercia and her husband Joseph and her sons’ father Dale Gassaway. She was predeceased by sisters Lauren Ochoa and Maryann Monforte.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, April 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25 at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
