Edward James Repose

Edward James Repose of Oak Harbor, Wash., and formally of Warwick, entered into rest on March 15, 2013, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, to Ann T. and Edward P. Repose.
He graduated from Warwick Valley High School in 1984.
Eddie is survived by his wife Edith and his three children: Rutchel, her husband Joel and their three children; Mark; and Michael and his wife Tara. He also is survived by his mother Ann Repose and her companion Marcel Ducommun in Warwick, his father Edward Repose in Florida; and his brother Rob Repose and his wife Nicole and their children in Warwick,
Eddie recently retired as Chief from the United States Navy, after having served 22 years defending his country. He served the majority of his time on the John F. Kennedy, USS Carl Vinson and the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carriers. He was awarded numerous medals during his career, including some during deployments in the Persian Gulf.
Eddie was a selfless individual who spent a great deal of his free time helping others in his community. He would volunteer time for local charitable organizations, mentor Navy personnel and help friends and family in times of need. He also loved to help coach his children and grandchildren with football. Many people throughout the Oak Harbor Washington community called him Uncle Eddie or their second dad. He will be greatly missed by all.
There will be a private ceremony for family on March 20th at the Wallin Funeral Home in Oak Harbor, Wash.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
The family would like to thank the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Wash., for their care of Eddie during his last days on earth.
