Edward J. Gerczak Jr.

Edward J. Gerczak Jr. of Pine Island, a retired self-employed produce grower, entered into rest on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018. He was 80.
The son of Edward J. Gerczak Sr. and Rose Dudek Gerczak, he was born on Dec. 29, 1937.
Ed was a community-minded person who always there to help benefit the local farmers. He served as a town councilman for the Town of Warwick. He was a member of the Pulaski Fire Company, Mohican Hunting Club, Orange County Vegetable Growers Association and the Knights of Columbus # 4952 Warwick Council.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Zeszutek Gerczak; sister Lillian Urbanski; sister Bonnie Martin and husband Tom; brother Allen Gerczak and wife Jamie; step-daughter Cynthia and husband Jerry; step grandchildren Justin and Chelsa Heron; great step grandchildren Kaylie and Oliver; honorary grandchildren Danny, Kris and Tiffany; ; honorary daughter Rita; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his stepson Jeffrey Morgan; brother Leonard Gerczak and his wife Andrea; and brother-in-law Stanley Urbanski.
Visitation was held Jan. 21 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Pine Island.
A funeral service was held Jan. 22 at the funeral home.
As per his wishes, cremation will be held privately and burial will be held in the spring in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pine Island.
