Edith Irene Leatham

Edith Irene Leatham of Chester passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 98 years old.

Born Oct. 8, 1914, in Chester, she was the daughter of James and Pearl (Van Gelder) Lawrence.

She was married to the late George Leatham.

A homemaker, Edith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester.

She is survived by her sons: James Leatham of Chester and George Lawrence Leatham of Big Springs, Texas; her grandchildren: Sydney Leatham and Taylor Leatham; and three great-grandchildren: Providence, Chicago and Boston.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
