Dorothy Dowling

Dorothy Dowling, formerly of Greenwood Lake, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in Harrisburg, Pa. She was 67 years old.

Born May 1, 1946, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Stanley and Anna Vinickas.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Dowling, in 2009.

She is survived by her children: Chris Dowling and his wife Deanna of Jackson, N.J., Lynn Dowling of Owego and Lauren Swanson and her husband Doug of Palmyra, Pa. She is also survived by her brother Michael Vinickas of Brooklyn.

Her family’s statement reads: “Dorothy possessed an inner strength and overcame great obstacles throughout these past ten years. She loved her family dearly and no matter what she was faced with, she was always found with a contagious smile on her face. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.”

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m.
