Dorothy Dainotto
Dorothy Dainotto of Warwick (and a former 30-year resident of Smithtown), passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 95 years old. Born Sept. 20, 1916, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Edward and Rosalie (Hekiert) Krause. She was married for 61 years to the late Angelo Dainotto (2007). Dorothy was a former secretary with Irving Trust Company in Brooklyn and was a member of St. Stephens R.C. Church in Warwick. She was a former member of St. Patricks R.C. Church in Smithtown on Long Island. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Linda Quackenbush and her husband Richard of Warwick, Lawrence Vaccarino and his wife Arleen of Jackson, N.J., Frank Vaccarino and his wife Chickie of Bethany, Conn., Barbara Kaplan and her husband Jeff of Raleigh, N.C.. Ann Carpentieri of Goshen, Louis Pesce and his wife Betsy of Calabash, N.C., Richard Pesce and his wife Donna of Georgia, Robert Pesce and his wife Marilyn of Georgia, and Frank Slovik and his wife Ruth of Wilmington, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Mary Carpentieri of Raleigh, N.C.; and several cousins. She was predeceased by a nephew, Alan Carpentieri. A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at St. Stephens R.C. Church. Interment will be in St. Raymonds Cemetery in the Bronx. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephens RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, NY 10990.
