Donald L. Milligan of Warwick passed away on Oct. 21, 2017, at Schervier Pavilion. He was 83 years old.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1934 in Kansas City, Mo.
Donald was married to Anne (Rooney) Milligan.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 214 in Warwick.
Before retiring, he was a telephone installer with N.Y. Telephone in New York City and he was a member of Local 1107, Communication Works, where he served as a shop steward and a facilitator.
He was a member of St. Stephen R.C. Church and a member of Warwick Valley Knights of Columbus #4952.
He was known as “Mr. Don” to many of the neighborhood children and Poppy to his grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff at Schervier Pavilion and to Dr. John Fiore for their loving care of Don.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Milligan; his daughter, Donna Ciccone and her husband Louis of Middletown; his sons: Donald P. Milligan of Virginia Beach, Va., and Michael K. Milligan and his wife Diana of Middletown; his grandchildren: Thomas Joseph (TJ), Michelle, Taylor and Spencer; and great-granddaughter, Mia; and several nephews and a niece.
He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Milligan, and his mother, Pauline Oliveri.
Visitation was held Oct. 24 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 25 at St. Stephen R.C. Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
