Detroy Fulmore Jr.

    Detroy Fulmore Jr. of Warwick (and formerly of the Bronx) passed away at home on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018. He was 64 years old.
    He was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Kingstree, South Carolina, to parents Catherine (Spates) and Detroy Fulmore Sr.
    Detroy served in the United States Army and later became a manager for HIP Healthcare in New York City.
    He loved to work outdoors in his yard. Detroy loved music, especially the “70’s stuff” as he called it.
    He was a very generous person and enjoyed giving things to his family and friends.
    Detroy also had a sweet tooth and enjoyed indulging once in a while.
    He often shared the love of God preaching the Gospel to anyone he encountered.
    He is survived by his wife, Mary (Davis) Fulmore at home; a stepdaughter, Kimberly McDoyle and her husband Donald of White Plains; brother the Rev. Franklin Fulmore and wife Valerie of Kingstree, S.C.; sisters Dorothy Epps of Kingstree, S.C., and Ellen Fulmore of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister-in-law Eloise Fulmore of Columbia, S.C.; mother-in-law Rosa Davis of Scranton, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, with a funeral service at 11 a.m.
    Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen.
