Debbie Kohler, a resident of Middletown, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 62.

The daughter of Charles and Lois Richling, Debbie was born on May 27, 1958, in New Jersey.

Debbie enjoyed spending time in her gardens, planting flowers. She was a lover of all animals, especially her dog and horses, who she enjoyed caring for. Debbie loved spending time with her family, which included popular hobbies such as horse barrel racing and tractor pulls.

Debbie will be remembered as a kind, caring, loving mother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her son Zachary Kohler of Middletown; daughter Kristine Janiak and her husband Matt of Warwick; sisters Penny Schlagel of Middletown and Charlene Bently and her husband Andy of Unionville; brothers Michael Flood of Pompton Lakes, N.J., and Bobby Richling of Middletown; grandson Grayson Janiak; nieces and nephews: Erin Paulison, RJ Schlagel, Darren and Daniel McCaffery; great niece Madeline Tinnelly; as well as her former husband, Ed Kohler.
