Daniel Serrano Jr.

Daniel Serrano Jr. of Warwick passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 75 years old.
Born Nov. 2, 1938, in Puerto Rico, he was the son of Patria (Barreto) and Daniel Serrano Sr.
He was married to Evelyn (Torres) Serrano.
Mr. Serrano was a member of the National Guard and was a parishioner of St. Stephen's R.C. Church, Warwick.
He was a commercial photographer with Color Wheel in Manhattan.
His family's statement reads: “Daniel Serrano was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, barbecues and watching sports. He was a huge Yankee and Giants fan. He lived his life with laughter and his humor will be missed.”
Preceded in death by a son, Steven Laugier, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn Serrano of Warwick; his mother, Patria Serrano of New York City; his daughter Michelle Shehata of Kingston; his daughter Stacey Capella and her husband Joseph of the Bronx; his daughter-in-law, Laura Laugier of Warwick; seven grandchildren: Omar, Joe and Samea Shehata; Brenda Lei Laugier, Stephanie Laugier, Madeline Capella and David Capella.
A funeral Mass was celebrated July 16 at St. Stephen's Church, followed by private cremation.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
