Clifford H. Anderson
Clifford H. Anderson of Milford, Pa., formerly of Pompton Lakes, N.J., and Fairview, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at home. He was 93.
Son of the late Herman Julius and Katherine (Prohl) Anderson, he was born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Hoboken, N.J. He was married to Mary P. Anderson who preceded him in death on April 24, 2005.
He was a South Pacific Navy Veteran of World War II, charter member of the American Legion Post 365, Fairview, N.J., music director and drum major of Rough Riders Drum and Bugle Corps of Post 365, member of Mountain Laurel Post 8612, past post commander and post bugler for the Milford VFW, and active member for over 60 years of the Boy Scouts of America, where he was an Eagle Scout and holder of the Silver Beaver.
Clifford attended Patterson State Teachers College, Stevens Institute of Technology, Newark College of Engineering and American Management Association School. He retired in 1990 from Consolidated Bearings Company, where he was an assistant chief engineer and operations manager. He wrote three technical manuals and many brochures during his 20 years of service. Prior to that he worked for Orange Roller Bearing Company for 21 years.
Survivors include his children, Clifford P. Anderson of Warwick, N.Y., Christopher Anderson of Milford, Pa., Mary Beth Robbins of Pompton Lakes, N.J., and Helen Jean Maikath of Mashdee, Mass.; sister, Ruth Havens of Dumont, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many great friends.
Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, Pa., on Saturday, March 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Robert Zuber officiating.
Final internment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
