Charles Stewart Reinhardt
Charles Stewart “Chuck” Reinhardt, 70, of Highland Lakes died unexpectedly at Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York City, N.Y. on June 6, 2013.
Born to the late Charles and Anne Reinhardt in Paterson, where he grew up and then lived in California, Montana and the Highland Lakes section of Vernon Twp. for the last 40 years.
Chuck graduated from Pope Pius High School, Passaic and Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Chuck worked as a smoke jumper in Missoula, Montana and continued working on projects throughout the years.
Chuck was a teacher for more than 40 years in Social Sciences and Human Rights Education. He taught in California, Denmark, New Jersey and in Circleville Middle School, Pine Bush N.Y. until his retirement.
He was actively involved as a member of the Pacem in Terris family in Warwick, N.Y. Chuck also traveled around the world to places such as Chiapas, Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina where he spread humanitarian aid. His extensive travels led to many world wide friendships.
Chuck is predeceased by his parents Charles and Anne Reinhardt, son-in-law Matthew Heroux and a brother-in-law Richard Udzielak.
Chuck is survived by his three children Theresa Heroux, Patrick Reinhardt, Matthew Reinhardt and granddaughter Julia Heroux. His two sisters Patricia Udzielak, Anne Magee and her husband Daniel as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation was held at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes. Cremation was private.
