Carol Eve Morgiewicz

Carol Eve “Mema” Morgiewicz of Warwick, a bus driver for First Student in Florida, N.Y., and former produce farmer, entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. She was 69.

The daughter of the late John and Mary Trizna Mikulas, she was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Newark, N.J.

“Mema will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved her family very much and never missed a Yankee game if she could help it. Her love of gardening and cooking was enjoyed by us all. We love you and will miss you Mema!”

She was married to Raymond R. “Putter” Morgiewicz, who predeceased her in 1993.

Carol was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Pine Island.

She is survived by her three daughters: Jacqueline Metakes and her husband Gregory of Middletown, Carolyn Purta and her husband Todd of Warwick, and Mary Wood and her husband Tim of Brewton, Al.; five grandchildren: Cassandra Miller, Trevor and Evan Metakes, Tanner Wood and Tyler Purta. She also is survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carol was also predeceased by her two brothers, John and Richard Mikulas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday Aug. 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1 in Pine Island.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island.

Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery Pine Island.
