Brenda Lee Bakker

| 31 Aug 2017 | 01:21

After 56 years of serving others, and following a heroic battle against our common mortal enemy, Brenda Lee (Jenkins) Bakker, of Warwick, passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017. She was surrounded by her family and closest friends.
Brenda was the daughter of Robert T. Jenkins and Patricia Elizabeth Simms Jenkins Giszack of Orange County.
She was a lifelong area resident and raised her family in Warwick.
Brenda leaves behind a long list of people who loved her dearly, and who are better for having been loved by her.
She is survived by her children Heather and Matthew of Warwick; her sister Beth and nephew Ryan of Pennsylvania; her little brother Todd, and his wife Katherine and nephews Micah, Jared and David in Virginia; and her best friends Paul, Peggy, and Julie.
Brenda was always the practical one, always the caretaker, always responsible, and lived a life defined by helping others.
She was our rock, and refused to complain about anything. She was always prepared to meet any need we had whether through the tenderness of a mother or the strength of a father. She parented not only her own, but many others around her including neighbors, friends, and extended family.
She will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation was held Aug. 29 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Warwick Ambulance Corps, PO Box 315, Warwick, NY 10990.
