Barry A. Abrams
Barry A. Abrams died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. He was 70 years old.
Mr. Abrams, son of Joseph and Alice (Slobodow) Abrams, was born March 11,1943, in Brooklyn.
He resided in Bayshore, Long Island, while maintaining a summer residence in Highland Lakes,N.J., for 28 years before be-coming a full-time resident nine years ago.
Mr. Abrams was the co-owner of Giant Copy Shop for more than 30 years. The business originated in Long Island and relocated to Warwick seven years ago.
Mr. Abrams was a trustee of Highland Lakes and was instrumental in starting the Highland Lakes Garden Club. He also was instrumental in beautifying the freeways to the main lake and installing benches at six of the freeways.
As well, he was an avid sailor, tennis player and skier.
Mrs. Abrams is survived by his wife, Angela (Sica) Abrams; children Kevin and Carolynn Abrams, both at home; brothers Allan Abrams of Boca Raton, Fla., and Mark Abrams of Staten Island; as well as eight nieces and two nephews.
