    Barry A. Abrams, 70, died Thursday August 8, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Mr. Abrams, son of the late Joseph and Alice (Slobodow) Abrams, was born in Brooklyn, NY March 11, 1943. He resided in Bayshore, Long Island while maintaining a summer residence in Highland Lakes for 28 years before becoming a full-time resident nine years ago.

    Mr. Abrams was the co-owner of Giant Copy Shop for over 30 years. The business originated in Long Island and relocated to Warwick, N.Y., 7 years ago. Mr. Abrams was a trustee of Highland Lakes and was instrumental in starting the Highland Lakes Garden Club. He also was instrumental in beautifying the freeways to the main lake and installing benches at six of the freeways. As well, he was an avid sailor, tennis player and skier.

    Mrs. Abrams is survived by his wife, Angela (Sica) Abrams; children, Kevin and Carolynn Abrams, both at home; brothers, Allan Abrams of Boca Raton, Fla., and Mark Abrams of Staten Island, N.Y., as well as eight nieces and two nephews.

    The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 Vernon on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. For online condolences and directions please see www.fergusonvernonfuneralhome.com
