Barbara R. McKiernan

Barbara R. McKiernan of Highland Lakes, N.J., (and formerly of Brooklyn) passed away at home on Sunday, June 16, 2013. She was 87 years old.

Born Sept. 23, 1925, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Thomas A. and Theresa (Armbruster) Clear.

She was married to Francis V. McKiernan for 63 years.

A graduate of Girls High in Brooklyn, Barbara worked for Vaughn Seed Company in Manhattan before retiring.

A homemaker, Barbara was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Highland Lakes, N.J.

She is survived by her husband Francis of Highland Lakes, N.J.; her children: Barbara Rodriguez and her husband Andrew of Hamburg, N.J., Kevin McKiernan and his wife Christine of Warwick and Theresa McKiernan of Warwick; seven grandchildren: Marie, Daniel, Hugh, James, Bridget, Megan and Sara; two great-grandchildren: Hugh Morgan and Caitlin; and a brother, Thomas Clear, of Brooklyn.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by interment in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Warwick.
