Barbara Jean Paul, formerly of Highland Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov 28, 2012, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family with the support of Hospice.

She was born Christmas Day 1930 in Thunder Bay (formerly Fort William), Ontario, Canada.

She married Andrew Paul in 1950 and had three children: Elizabeth Paul, Donald Paul and Wendy Paul Nelson. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She lived a simple life. From early years, her children will remember her famous rice pudding, homemade fruit cake and summer camping trips to Canada to visit relatives.

In later years she enjoyed movies, seeing “Titanic” three times with her daughter Liz, mall trips with Don where she enjoyed lunch, socializing and drinking a coffee until he finished his shopping, and spending much time and Holidays at Wendy’s home where family and friends would gather.

Babs was a very good cook, but her personal favorite was a simple grill cheese.

And she always wanted to know that her children were all right – It’s OK, Mom, Liz and Wendy have our pocketbooks and we all have a full tank of gas! We love you!

She will be interred in Warwick Cemetery near her dear friend Andy. A private memorial for family and friends will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane New City, New York 10956.

Arrangements were under the direction of Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick. To send an online condolence, see www.lsvpmemorialhome.com.
