Barbara Bressi

Barbara (Holland) Bressi of Warwick, formerly of Nyack, passed away at Valley View Center on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018. She was 78 years old.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1939, in Kennett Square, Pa., the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Holland) Wolcott.
She was married to Vincent Bressi.
Barbara graduated from Nyack High School and attended SUNY Oswego and New Paltz. She also attended NYU where she earned a painting degree.
Barbara worked in OT in Ward’s Island and then with preschool children in Manhattan before becoming a floral fabric designer.
She then worked for Dan River Fabrics and Wamsutta Sheets.
Barbara provided murals for childrens’ hospitals in the State of Mississippi.
She was also featured in Architectural Digest Magazine for her floral design.
Barbara made several trips to Scotland and was deeply touched by the beauty she saw there in both the people and the landscape.
Barbara was connected and involved in the art community in the Warwick area, creating various crafts, children’s clothing and costumes.
She had a deep love of children and loved cats and other animals; she was a very caring mother.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Vincent, at home; daughter Lexie of Warwick; brothers Larry Wolcott and wife Julie of Plymouth, Michigan, and Peter Wolcott of Vancouver British Columbia; a niece, Jennifer Harrelson; and two grand nephews.

A memorial service will be arranged at a future date. Cremation was private.
Arrangements were made by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
