Antonia 'Tonie' Murphy

Antonia “Tonie” Murphy of Warwick passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Anthony Hospital. She was 73 years old.
Born in Astoria, Queens, on May 19, 1945, she was the daughter of Frank Tenreiro and Henrietta Garcia.
Tonie served as a clerk of the court in East Hampton.
When she came to the area, she served on the Orange County Board of Elections and then worked as the assistant to County Executive Joseph Rampe.
She later became Commissioner of Jurors.
Tonie also served as vice-chairman of the Republican Committee for more than 30 years.
She worked as a realtor for Raynor Country and was a longtime member of the “Lotto players group” with her co-workers there.
To Tonie, family always came first. She always enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their families, but her grandsons were her world.
Tonie is survived by her daughters Lisa Miller of Montgomery and Tara LeDuc and husband Paul of Warwick; six grandchildren: Adam and David Smith, Jacob and Joshua Miller and Kyle and Andrew LeDuc; brother Frank Tenreiro and wife Maryanne of South Hampton; and two nephews and two great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Kevin M. Murphy, daughter Dawn Murphy Smith and sister Maria McGrath.
Visitation was held June 3 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
A funeral service will be at the funeral home on June 4; interment followed in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.
