Anita Houston Nemetz

    Anita Nemetz, former resident of Fairview, N.J., died peacefully surrounded by family on June 4, 2013, at her home in The Woodlands, Texas after a brief struggle with cancer. She was 80.

    She was the wife of George R. Nemetz and the daughter of Martha and James Carr Houston lll.

    She is survived by her six children: Cheryl Nemetz Baratta, Andrea Nemetz, George E. Nemetz and his wife, Nancy Nemetz, Eileen Nemetz Holderman, Kenneth Nemetz, and his wife, Laura Nemetz, and Linda Nemetz Ruff and her husband, Steve Ruff; her 15 grandchildren: Emma Baratta and her husband Ben Jacobs, Sophia Baratta, Zoe Nemetz, Kate Nemetz, Maggie Nemetz, Jessica Nemetz Swearingen and her husband Brendon Swearingen, Malori Nemetz, Aundrea Nemetz, Leigh Blanchard, Eric Ruff, Nick Ruff, Jake Ruff, Collin Broughton, Kyle Broughton and Devin Broughton; her three great-grandchildren: Addison, Brooklyn and Charley Swearingen; her sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Ed Kuchman; her sister-in-law Carol Houston; her brother-in-law Stephen Dobish; ten nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

    Anita is remembered as a force of nature. She had the gift and talent of loving life, living life to its fullest and inspiring all those who knew her to try new things and accomplish what they never imagined they could. She was a leader who served many communities and organizations, most notably, the Girl Scouts.

    All friends are invited to join Anita’s family for a memorial service and reception at Flemings, The Promenade #90, off River Road in Edgewater, N.J., on Saturday, July 13.
