Alfred F. Wardle

Alfred F. Wardle, formerly of Warwick and more recently of Middletown, passed away at Middletown Park Nursing Home on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
He was the son of Sophie and Alfred E. Wardle. He was born in Oxford, Massachusetts, and was predeceased by his only sister Joan Botbyl.
Alfred served in the military during World War II in the Army Air Force as a fighter pilot. He was an active member of the VFW and American Legion in Warwick.
He retired from Disney World in Florida, where family and friends were free to visit with Al’s lifetime passes.
He is survived by his brother-in-law Edward P. Botbyl of Middletown; and nieces and nephews: Patrick and Bernadette Botbyl of Weatherby, Missouri, Mary Joan Botbyl of Greenville, Gerard Botbyl and wife Kathy of Wanaque, N.J., Edward Botbyl of Pine Island, Nancy and James Schiaffo of Middletown and Skip Botbyl and wife Jennifer of Hobart. He has 11 great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20 at St. Joseph Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown.
Burial of his ashes will be held immediately following the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson, N.J.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
