Albert Billings Dowsett Jr.

Albert Billings Dowsett Jr., a longtime resident of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla on Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was 87 years old.
Born July 6, 1930, in Teaneck, N.J., he was the son of Albert Billings Dowsett Sr. and Eleanor Frye.
Albert was married to Janet (nee Scanlon) Dowsett.
Al served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1952 and was a senior aircraft mechanic.
He was the owner of H&D Dental Lab in Dumont, N.J.
Al was an avid golfer. He loved Warwick and he loved his dog, Daisy.
He is survived by his wife Janet at home; four sons: David Dowsett and his wife Mary of Marco Island, Fla., Steven Dowsett of Ireland, Brian Dowsett of Hawaii and Robert Hayden and wife Cara of Warwick; grandchildren: Bruce Hayden, Jessica Dowsett, Matthew Dowsett, Shannon Hayden, Kelly Hayden, Danny Hayden and Poppi Costello; and one great-grandson.
Al was predeceased by a son, Thomas Hayden (2011), and a daughter, Debbie Dowsett (1987).
A Funeral Mass was celebrated June 27 at St. Stephen R.C. Church in Warwick.
Interment followed in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.
Arrangements were made by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
