Here’s the latest to reach The Photo News newsroom: • Tiffany Witte of Monroe has been named to the dean’s list for the 2007 fall semester at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass. To make the dean’s list, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or above. • Ashley A. Skeete of Monroe was named to the president’s list at Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., for the fall 2007 semester. Skeete is studying industrial engineering. To qualify, students must attain a GPA of 3.80 or higher. • Matthew Milone of Monroe was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2007 semester at the School of Arts and Sciences at SUNY Institute of Technology in Ithica. He is the son of Linden and Frank Milone of Monroe. The following local residents were named to the dean’s list at Providence College for the fall 2007 semester: • Matthew Alcide of Monroe, a member of the class of 2009. • Anne Summers of Monroe, a member of the class of 2011. Dean’s list designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 GPA. Military news • Army Reserve Spec. Jorge Medina has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Medina, a wheeled vehicle mechanic, is a member of the 812th Military Police Company based in Orangeburg. The reservist has served in the military for two years. The specialist is the son of Perry E. Medina of Monroe and Margaret Medina of Lodi, N.J. He is a 2002 graduate of Monroe- Woodburg High School. • Army National Guard Pfc. Colleen E. Geraghty has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Geraghty is a 1998 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School. She is the daughter of Pat Geraghty of Pine Island.
