    Local students continue to be recognized for their academic successes at colleges and universities near and far. Here are the latest announcements to arrive in The Warwick Advertiser newsroom: • Rose M. Kerstanski of Florida was named to the president’s list for the fall 2007 semester at Morrisville State College. To qualify, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete 12 credits. Kerstanski’s major is equine science. The following students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2007 semester at Morrisville State College: • Bradley J. Barlow of Warwick, who is majoring in automotive technology. • Kaitlin S. Mahon of Warwick, whose major is listed as LA and Sci - Humanities and Social Sciences. To qualify, a student must achieve a GPA of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credits. The following students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2007 semester from the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering at Binghamto University, State University of New York: • David T. Kelemen of Florida. • Michael Ludwig of Warwick. • James E. Warner of Warwick. The criteria for the dean’s honors list is a minimum grade point average of 3.5. Military news • Army National Guard Pvt. Matthew J. DeFrancisco has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. DeFrancisco, a 2000 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, is the son of John and Debbi DeFrancisco of Gordon Terrace, Warwick. • Army National Guard Pfc. Colleen E. Geraghty also has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Geraghty, a 1998 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School in Central Valley, is the daughter of Pat Geraghty of Pine Island.
