M-W students among those honored at BOCES

    GOSHEN-The Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education Center held its annual Student Recognition Ceremony at SUNY Orange in Middletown on June 22. Five hundred ninety-four students were honored for completing their various occupational programs at the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC). One hundred eighty-two students who demonstrated a specific competency on an Industrial Standard Assessment were recognized with a Technical Endorsement on their high school diploma. This distinction is the technical equivalent of graduating with honors. Danielle Devine, a senior from Monroe-Woodbury and a student in the New Vision Education Program, was presented with the Outstanding Student Gold Award. Christine Pawlowicz of Goshen, an Education Careers Academy student, received the Outstanding Student Silver Award. The Outstanding Student Bronze Award was given to Candice N. Mann, a Security Careers Academy student from Pine Bush. Cindy Heitz, a Travel and Tourism Academy student from Goshen, and Tiffany Beard, a Business Computer Careers Academy student from Washingtonville were the recipients of CTEC's Student Service Awards.
