M-W buses of the month
Central Valley - Each month, the Monroe-Woodbury School District recognizes the women and men who drive students to and from school. Comments from the drivers are included in the captions with each photograph. Here are those recognized in February: Bus 354 Driver Eileen Cuccio, left, and Principal Jean Maxson, right, are shown with students from Pine Tree Elementary. “They are very polite and respectful to me. They seem to like each other on the bus. They stay seated and follow my instructions very well. The noise has been reduced and the aisles have been cleared. They are very cooperative.” Bus 382 Driver Clareen Lynch is at right, with students from High School C-Tech. “My PM C-Tech students are an exceptional bunch of students; they follow all the safety rules with crossing cautiously to keeping their bus clean. PM C-Tech is known for being a ruff group but they are a wonderful group of students.” Bus #394 Driver Bill O’Toole at left, and attendants Ann Marie Giove and Brunilda D’Agnese, are pictured with the students from Center of Discovery. “They are very cooperative and helpful. They always keep their seatbelts on. We sing songs and talk each day.” Bus 403 Attendant Alexis Jones at left, and driver Mike Glynn at right, are shown with their students from BOCES. “Students are well behaved and never create any difficulty for us. They interact extremely well with the attendants and always follow their instructions. They are courteous and very will mannered in addition to being on time every morning. It is a pleasure to say good morning to each of them.” Bus 418 Driver Jean Nieves at left, and attendant Joyce Clark at right, are shown with their students from M-W Middle School. “Our students have followed the safety rules since they started on Bus 418 they all wear their seatbelts, the noise level is always low and they do show respect for each other and myself.” Bus 418 Attendant Joyce Clark at left, assistant principal Christine Conway in center, and driver Jean Nieves at right, are shown with the students from Central Valley Elementary. “The students have worked very hard to know all the rules. Even though some or our students are in wheelchair. they are very in tune to what is going on. They might be children with disabilities, but they know the rules and they are a great group of kids.” Bus 315 Driver Alicia Pecko, at left, is shown with his students from M-W Middle School. “The students follow my directions. They stay seated in their seats and keep all there belongings with them. Which is the greatest improvement ever. All students show respect to me and each other and don’t fight or use profundity. They follow all the bus rules.” Bus 309 Driver Jose M. Vasquez at left, and attendant Barbara Santiago at right, are shown with their students from BOCES. “These students are children with a disability and they surprised us by learning all the safety rules and following our instructions to the letter. By being friendly and caring toward each other and showing us that in reality they have no disabilities.” Bus 396 Driver Jessie Lazar, at right, is shown with his students from Smith Clove Elementary. “Students tighten their seat belts, keep their feet out of the aisles, indoor voices and quiet hands. After months of review and practice, everyone on the bus now follow the rules on an every day basic.” Bus 352 Driver Donna Pascullo, left, and Principal Dr. Charlene Pepe, center, are shown with students from Sapphire Elementary. “The students work hard on keeping the noise level down and using our inside voices and not calling my name all the time unless its an emergency. I have some crossers and they do a great job. They wear their seatbelts and keep the aisle clear. They keep all their stuff in their book bag. They are nice to each other and very respectful to me.”
