Goshen students win state music award

GOSHEN — Goshen High School students Lauren Liria and Ingrid Warner were recently awarded the New York State School Music Association Award. Recipients are chosen based on their scores from the New York State School Music Association audition. Liria is the daughter of Peter and Ketty Liria of Goshen. The senior received the award for women’s chorus. She is a member of Jazz Voices, National Honor Society, drama club, and school musicals. She also serves as vice president of the National Foreign Language Honor Society, and was selected for All-County, Area All-State, and All-State. Warner is the daughter of Rob and Nancy Warner of Goshen. The junior received the chorus award as an alternate. She participates in Jazz Voices, Varsity Chorus, and school musicals. She is a member of the girls’ soccer team, teenage republicans, National Honor Society, National Foreign Language Society, and is a junior class representative.
