Golden anniversary

One hundred and forty family members and friends gathered recently to help Elizabeth A. Shuback and Frank S. Mikulski celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Seven members of their bridal party attended, as did their son Frank Jr. and his three children, who surprised the couple by traveling in from Missoula, Montana. The celebration, held on Oct. 15 at St. Joseph’s Banquet Hall in Florida, was given by Elizabeth and Frank Sr.’s four children — Frank Jr., Doris (Rich) Tomczak, JoAnn (Louie) Jados, and Floyd Mikulski — and their 10 grandchildren. Elizabeth, a homemaker, and Frank Sr. were self-employed onion farmers in Pine Island. Frank Sr. is a Korean War veteran. The couple received a letter of congratulations from President and Mrs. George W. Bush. A Golden Jubilee mass in their honor will be celebrated on Sunday, Nov. 19, at St. Joseph Church in Florida. Father Joseph Tokarczyk will officiate. The couple was married in St. Joseph’s on Oct. 13, 1956.
