Evelyn Getz

Evelyn Getz of Goshen, formerly of Monvale, N.J., a former teacher in Middletown Springs and Bradford, Vt., and Canajuharie and Kinderhook, N.Y., died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She was 94.

She was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church and the Hospital Auxiliary of the Pascack Valley Hospital. She was a graduate of the University of Vermont.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald Getz.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Jackson, and her husband, Greg, of Durham, N.C.; her son, Dave, and his wife, Janet, of Warwick; grandchildren, Neil, Doug, Brendan, Dan, and Timothy; and great-grandchild, Bella.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Rhinebeck Room at Glen Arden, 214 Harriman Drive, Goshen, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 17.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New York State Talking Book and Braille Library, Cultural Education Center, Albany, NY 12230, or the Goshen United Methodist Church, 115 Main St., Goshen, NY 10924.
