Dominic Aro joins medical staff at St. Anthony Community Hospital

Warwick — St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick recently welcomed obstetrician and gynecologist Dominic Aro, D.O., A.B.O.G., as a member of its active medical staff. After completing his residency in 1993, Aro entered into private practice in Westchester. During his 10 year tenure at Westchester Medical Center, he was involved in resident and medical student teaching, served as director of medical student education, and was director of the Midwifery Service at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Tarrytown. In 2000 he was named “Doctor of the Year” by the Hudson Valley Chapter of the American College of Midwifery. Aro completed a bachelor of science degree in pharmacology at Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy in Brooklyn. He went on to obtain a doctorate in osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo., where he was a member of Sigma Phi National Honor Fraternity and was awarded the McClymonds Scholarship. While completing his residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, Aro was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, was the recipient of both the “Resident Teaching” and “Humanitarian” awards, and was named Resident of the Year. Aro is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; the American Osteopathic Association; the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology, and American Medical Society. He is a member of Horizon Family Medical Group, Women’s Health Division, and maintains an office on Hatfield Lane in Goshen.
