College news: graduations and dean's lists

    Warwick - The following students have been recognized for their academic achievements: •Mark L. Umstead of Warwick graduated from the University at Buffalo with bachelor of science degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Currently fulfilling internship requirements, Umstead will begin his final year for a masters degree in Business Operations from the University of Buffalo beginning in August. •Sarah Simmons-Payne of Warwick graduate magna cum laude, with a 3,84 GPA, from Fairfield University where she majored in communications and marketing. She will be working at D.L. Ryan Companies, a marketing firm based in Wilton, Conn. She is the daughter of John and Linda Payne. •Benjamin Case of Warwick has graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University’ Metropolitan Campus located in Teaneck, N.J., with a bachelor of science degree in business management. •Edward Weite of Warwick was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Fairleigh Dickinson University’ Metropolitan Campus located in Teaneck, N.J. To qualify, a student must maintain a 3.2 or better cumulative grade point average for the semester. •Dariel Beth Nowak of Greenwood Lake, a freshman majoring in early childhood development and education in the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy at the University of Delaware, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester with a grade point average of 3.3 or better. Area students named to Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications Dean’s List The following students enrolled in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. To qualify, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester. •Linita Shannon of Florida, a junior majoring in television-radio-film. •Jessica Scarane of Warwick, a senior majoring in advertising. •Arthur Ramazanov of Warwick has reserved a place as a transfer student at SUNY Oswego. Fall classes will begin Aug. 28. He last studied at Orange County Community College.
