On Sept. 5, the Monroe-Woodbury Garden Club celebrated its 35th anniversary. Past and present members reminisced with photos and memorabilia while enjoying a light supper in Central Valley. Robin Burkhardt, daughter of garden club founder, Lucille Burkhardt, spoke of her mom’s passion for gardening and the life-long bond she created with fellow club members. Salt and Pepper the Clown entertained and helped deliver the door prizes. The Monroe-Woodbury Garden Club meets the first Tuesday evening of each month at 7:30 at the Central Valley Methodist Church on Smith Clove Road.
